Shire of Mundaring is a local government located in the hills east of Perth in Western Australia. With a population dispersed across a large land area, the team were keen to investigate new ways to engage with their community.
After analysing various options on the market based on functionality, value for money and customer service, Engagement Hub was selected as their preferred software.
Implementation of the software was simple and included several in-house training sessions for staff as the Shire knew it was critical to the success of the platform to have buy-in across the organisation, particularly in service areas that frequently consult such as planning, building and recreation.
Karen White, Coordinator Community Engagement at the Shire said “We have really embedded the platform across the organisation with all new employees being inducted into what Engage Mundaring is, how it works and how important it is.
“As the software is so intuitive, it makes this approach simple. The platform mirrors how people’s minds work so it is very user-friendly. We get a lot of comments about how easy the engagement platform is to use and both our staff and the community have reported positive experiences when navigating Engage Mundaring projects.
“We also like how we can embed our branding across the site so the community is able to clearly recognise this as ours as it matches our website and style guide. Using lots of images and videos has enabled us to really bring projects alive for our community.”
Janice Byers, Organisational Development at the Shire of Mundaring added “After several demonstrations, the Shire chose to undertake the services of Engagement Hub. Throughout implementation, they have been reactive to our needs, supportive to our learning the system and have held our hand guiding us to better improve the way in which we can enhance our community engagement.”
